The area is ideal for walking/ hiking with numerous footpaths nearby including the Cleveland Way up on the Moors. We generally welcome dogs providing they are well behaved and kept under control, please enquire.
The farm is very close to the Sustrans cycle route (number 71) and there are many other cycle routes nearby including, for our more energetic guests, routes taking you up through the Hambleton Hills onto the Moors.
The nearby forest provides downhill and single-track galore for mountain bike lovers. The local roads also provide plenty of interest for road cyclists, with some of the steepest gradients in the UK to be found in the vicinity.
We’re also near the Sutton Bank trail centre, which offers a number of trails with varying degrees of difficulty, some of which are suitable for children. There’s also a cafe and bike shop, which also rents bikes out to visitors.
Guests are also welcome to use our tennis court, free of charge. Spare tennis racquets and balls can be provided if required.
Guests are welcome to fish, free of charge, in our recently constructed private 0.8 acre fishing lake which is well stocked with a mixture of tench, roach, bream, F1 carp, crucian carp, chub and barbel.
Guests are welcome to bring their own horses on holiday with them. We can provide stabling /grazing at an additional cost (please contact us to discuss rates). We stable our own horses here and have a ménage on site. It is good hacking country around the farm with quiet roads and many bridle paths in the area through local forests and up onto the Moors.
